About Me
I have been involved in Awakening since my intiation into Transcendental Meditation at UNC-A in May 1974.I became a TM-Siddha in 1978. I met GangaJi in December 1997. I had a very deep meeting with her. I had the good fortune to live within driving distance of her satsangs, and once "hooked", sat with her as often as I could 1997-2002, usually 200 miles round trip for a Sunday afternoon Satsang. I also sat with several of the other PapaJi teachers as they came through the Bay Area. Arjuna Ardagh, Isaac Shapiro, Mira, Neelam, Adyashanti, Pamela Wilson, Karen McPhee. I moved to Northern Arizona in 2002 and there sat with Stuart, Nirmala, and Pamela Wilson.

I am now involved with several groups in Asheville. Love community. GangaJi Video Satsang, Adyashanti Video Satsang, Trey's Awakening Group with Eckhart Tolle. Meher Baba group. I attend Sunday night TM group meditation and lecture when I can. I also attend Jubilee and when I get up to Black Mountain, enjoy Cloud Cottage.

“Enlightenment is simply a natural state of felt oneness with Being."
---Eckhart Tolle

"The biggest barrier to awakening is the belief that it is something rare."
-- Adyashanti

"Spiritual states come and go, but this ordinary Presence has always been here."
---Pamela Wilson

"Remember...Be Here Now."
---Ram Dass

"There is only Now."
---Scott Morrison

"Who are you...without any reference to the past?"
"Just be quiet. Don't think."
---Papaji

"Just STOP."
---GangaJi

"To meet everything and everyone through stillness instead of mental noise, is the greatest gift you can give the universe."
---Eckhart Tolle

"That inner Self, as the primeval Spirit,
Eternal, ever effulgent, full and infinite Bliss,
Single, indivisible, whole and living,
Shines in everyone as the witnessing awareness.
That self in its splendour, shining in the cavity of the heart
This self is neither born nor dies,
Neither grows nor decays,
Nor does it suffer any change.
When a pot is broken, the space within it is not,
And similarly, when the body dies the Self in it remains eternal."
---Ramana Maharshi

"All the Buddhas of all the ages have been telling you a very simple fact: Be -- don't try to become. Within these two words, be and becoming, your whole life is contained. Being is enlightenment, becoming is ignorance."
-Osho

"You can't fix duality but you can leave it. Get lost in the infinite, meander to God knows where. Know this as reality."
--- Stuart Schwartz

"Eventually all must become the epitome of loving kindness. Compassion is a powerful tool for Awakening. Everyone is born with it. A mother for child, a friend for a friend. For a pet. It is the natural way."
---Robert Adams

“Love is a state of Being.
Your love is not outside; it is deep within you.
You can never lose it, and it cannot leave you.
It is not dependent on some other body, some external form.
In the stillness of your Presence, you can feel your own formless and timeless reality
as the unmanifested life that animates your physical form.
You can then feel the same life deep within every other human and every other creature.
You look beyond the veil of form and separation.
This is the realization of oneness.
This is love.”
~ Eckhart Tolle

"When I see I am nothing, that is wisdom. When I see I am everything, that is love. My life is a movement between these two."
---Nisargadata Maharaj

"To love God in the most practical way is to love our fellow beings.
If we feel for others in the same way as we feel for our own dear ones, we love God.
If, instead of seeing faults in others, we look within ourselves, we are loving God.
If, instead of robbing others to help ourselves, we rob ourselves to help others, we are loving God.
If we suffer in the sufferings of others and feel happy in the happiness of others, we are loving God.
If, instead of worrying over our own misfortunes, we think ourselves more fortunate than many many others, we are loving God.
If we endure our lot with patience and contentment, accepting it as His Will, we are loving God.
If we understand and feel that the greatest act of devotion and worship to God is not to hurt or harm any of His beings, we are loving God.
To love God as He ought to be loved, we must live for God and die for God, knowing that the goal of life is to Love God, and find Him as our own Self."
---Meher Baba

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind; and love your neighbor as your own Self."
---Jesus the Christ

"Love is no game of the weak and the faint-hearted; It is born of strength and understanding"
---Meher Baba

'Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in forgiving that we are forgiven;
and it is in dying (of our self-centeredness) that we are born to eternal life."
---St Francis of Assisi

"This is my passion right now. The moment of the deepest recognition (whether it happens to you over 100 moments or in one moment) is just the beginning. Realizing one's true nature-that's just the beginning. Then it becomes about embodying that in one's human life and in the world. No one can do that for us. That's what I would like to offer people: the message that we have to do this ourselves, and, we can. We have the ability. Since 'the way' is unique, there comes a time when we need to leave behind the teacher and teachings. There's a marvelous quote by Osho about this. He says that you have to find your own source., not be a follower, an imitator."
-- Karen McPhee

The New Paradigm

Posted on August 14, 2010 at 5:39am 0 Comments

The Divine is all around us, in us, and has always been Here, Now. It is not an energy or a mechanism. It is the Source of energy and mechanisms. We are in a new paradigm where there is no longer a master high above on a stage with the "students" sitting below wondering how many lifetimes until they become perfectly enlightened.

The new paradigm is friend-to-friend. The divine joke is that the unsatisfied ego condition wants to be "enlightened" because ego assumes it will then be… Continue

Instead Of Blaming The Darkness You Bring In The Light

“There is only one perpetrator of evil on the planet: human unconsciousness. That realization is true forgiveness. With forgiveness, your victim identity dissolves, and your true power emerges ~ the power of Presence. Instead of blaming the darkness, you bring in the light.”

Love Waits For You Everywhere --- by Scott Morrison

To be sure, we all have a great deal to learn from each other. However, the process of subtle arrogance and self deception in the spiritual

arena is perhaps the most damaging of all illusions. I am a Buddhist,

or a Yogi, or a Pagan, or a student of the Fourth Way or the Kaballah

or some other mystical or ecclectic school, and I imagine…

Thank you Cullen, for letting me know about this site. I was hoping to know more about the people I've crossed paths with in Asheville, but have never spoken to.
This is gift. Looking forward to other gatherings you plan to bring together. Glad we've had an opportunity to know you better through AMC.

Thanks Cullen! What a great way to share. And now I can put faces to the names I have seen throughout the years. I am really having fun "seeing" everyone who has joined so far.

Hi Cullen. I really like your quotes. Thank you for inviting me to join this forum.
It is a very good way to converse with like-minded souls. I've wanted to come to some of the group meetings, but it's difficult especially the ones at night because I live so far and have a young daughter at home. So, this forum is great. Thanks. Peace and Joy, Joyce
