Supporting Non-Duality and Awakening in Asheville and Beyond

Refuge

These images of water bottles were taken using my Canon G 10 macro lens and a light box. They have not been altered with Photoshop.

The prints are painted with subtle interference and iridescent glazes that sparkle and change colors as you move around the work.

Currently on display at Atelier 24 Gallery -24 Lexington Avenue in Asheville.

In naming this series, I was challenged to choose between Refuge and Through the Looking Glass, which is borrowed from Lewis Carroll, in reference to seeing the world differently or entering an alternative world.

In the end, I chose to name the series Refuge, because of the soothing and comforting feeling that the images give me.

I began a love affair with macro photography earlier this year and knew that I wanted to somehow incorporate it into my work. What has emerged is a fusion of photographic art prints painted with subtle interference and iridescent glazes. Notice, as you move around the work, how the colors change and the glazes sparkle.

I invite you to explore the mystery of macro photography, drop down the rabbit hole with me, take refuge, and see what you experience.
