Event Description

Learning the basics of T’ai Chi will help enhance your ability to become fully present, and increase your connection with your inner body.

According to Roger, “T'ai Chi brings together a unique sequence of slow-paced flowing movements that, while quite graceful to watch and not appearing especially complicated, nevertheless take considerable attention to perform. And paradoxically, they also require - and help teach - a particular kind of relaxation, a softening of unnecessary, excessive control. By focusing my attention on this slowed-down process of moving, I start to hear my body, how I move, in a deeper, calmer, more centered way. This awareness supports my body's own built-in movement intelligence , naturally helping to release tension and holding patterns, and encouraging the fluidity and resilience characteristic of T'ai Chi."

"This will be a simple introduction, not nearly as complicated as the very involved T'ai Chi forms that are generally taught. Focus will be as much on developing sensory awareness as on T'ai Chi, and some simple-to-do T'ai Chi-based exercises are simply my primary means to help cultivate that."

The meeting will start off with meditation, followed by about an hour or so of T’ai Chi practice. We hope to see you there, and please pass along the information to anyone you think might be interested.
In peace,
Trey
