Thank you, Trey, for creating this site. I'd been hoping something would appear that carries a greater depth of thought and gives me an opportunity to know some of the people in this community. Asheville is a place I've dreamed of living for years...and now being here....it surpasses my expectations.

I missed my 1st meeting and it was because of the ice in my driveway.
Do we meet this Thursday or next?
I really missed seeing everyone, how many did you have?

Hi Trey,
Thanks for the welcome. I'd like to attend the Byron Katie event. She is amazing. I have also found another teacher I think you'd appreciate. Her name is Eliza Mada Dalian, based in Vancouver,BC. Check her out on the web. I ordered her book and find it equally as challenging as Katie's stuff. Peace and love.

Trey, thanks so much for starting this site. Gosh, we've added several out of town folks the past few days because of the events offered. Chapel Hill, Silver Spring MD, and am expecting a lady from Florida to join as well. COOL! Sorry I haven't been out to your group for awhile. I have a transportation problem for the time being. But that will change. Namaste.

Long story shortish. About three years ago the Buddha entered my life and very simply said, in my own words, "It's gonna hurt and your gonna die." The two most beautiful and freeing truths I had yet to stumble upon on this Middle Path. I very recently fell in love with/had life changing conversations with a beautiful young man who is to never be mine in the physical/relationship sense as he is straight, and through that sublime suffering was relieved of a far greater suffering I have carried with me for a very long time now. His compassionate, fearless, boundless, and label free soul deep love for me was a truly enlightening thing. I struggle to compassionately detach from those I love, and his words and personal insight into Buddhism and the Middle Path sparked within me a great desire to learn more of what that amazing man the Buddha had to teach. Hence my search for those of a like mind, and lo, here I find them. Also, I recently began reading Hardcore Zen by Brad Warner and it was there that I came across the Heart Sutra. Took me days to read. Through this Sutra I've found that the light only becomes brighter and the contentment only deeper, the deeper my understanding of the Path becomes. So with this, I say a thanks for your greeting, and a hope to hear from/see you very soon.

Thanks Trey, and thank you for starting this group. This is a fine way to discover kindred spirits on the planet. It would like to find someplace for all of us to hang out once a month or so for laughter and irreverence. Knowing ourselves as That in which this earth-story appears, and realizing that there is nothing we need to do to become what we already are, wouldn't it be awesome to just enjoy the company of a bunch of people who "remember" ?
