CONVERSATIONS WITH YIN AND YANG
Draft Version 1.0 – December 27 2009
© 2009 Howard McQueen

YIN speaks up, breaking the silence and says
Everyday I fight my insecurities ... my fears of not having enough - of not being enough. Savings dwindle and I cower inward toward places that avoid and freeze all action and ability to create. Wish I could just say F_CK-IT and chance losing it all!!!!!

And YANG stirs and gently replies
Rather than struggle
and put up a fight,
allow the feelings to come and be,
however frightening,
however shrinking
and constricting.
Breathe deeply as you feel into these …

They are but stuck energies.
Granted, their habitual feedings on us
make these unseen parasitic energetic beings
seem more like demons rearing up
to suck our life from us.
This is the truth deep within us.

The good news is that these stuck energies are
a small aspect of us,
contained within this unbelievably larger,
more profound energetic vessel of our energetic being.

The mind has just been allowed to
"make a big deal",
create its subterfuge,
its sneaky sabotage.

This has resulted in the stuck-ness,
the damming up of the limitless force of life
seeking to flow through us.

Yes, these feelings are intense reminders,
intense calling cards,
intense invitations.

Be with the feelings,
encouraging our personal will
to begin dissolving the dam, the stuck-ness.

Every time the feelings arise,
do not resist them,
as they present us with
a personal gauntlet of fear,
that the warrior in us is building the courage
to stand up and inevitably walk through,
to the other side ...

Yang lives and writes mostly from this recently uncovered perspective of being on the other side, having safely passed through many gauntlets in 2009.

Yin, if you sense a freedom and strength flowing through these words, know that it is a more universal force than any personal "me" that speaks through and animates us. There is this eternal-ness that has not been touched by fear. It is this that Yin senses is awaiting its flow through you, dear Yin.

Yang will wait patiently, holding this signal, throughout eternity, even as my face and physical form change ten thousand times, for the invitation to Love remains continuous, an inner beacon Yin can tune into to know when her time comes near, to take up the inner faith, to walk through the fear and penetrate, to the other side ...

This is not a burden or a curse,
but a privilege,
this cosmic dance
that Yin and Yang are born to celebrate,
constantly,
every single day,
knowing that both,
this pair of charged opposites,
are forever energetically intertwined,
and their destiny,
a merging back into unity,
the Oneness of Unconditional Love.

Kimberly,

Why am I not surprised that you are making your presence felt on this particular blog entry ;-)!

I had not read this particular Rumi poem before, so it is so spot-on of you to share it here.

YIN believes there are many voices caught in the pandemic fear of dwindling stores of money.
YANG agrees, yet senses another river of Abundance that flows.

I believe it was one of our discussions on the Quantum-ness of energetic pairs, along with Sri Aurobindo's teaching that has Yang so calm, so in this moment emptied-out of the mental disease of despair.

But, like you call out in the Rumi verse below, any guest can and will come knocking on the front door!
We are well served to expect the unexpected, and welcome all.

;-) - Howard
