Supporting Non-Duality and Awakening in Asheville and Beyond

(C) 2009 Howard McQueen

Do we really have any control what-so-ever
in what we convey in word and intent
when it lands on another?

You can plant the sweetest of kiss
on the walking dead
and in that moment
they will not stir.

You can put your arm around
someone just gazing at you.
And should they not be ready,
be offered a healthy dose of rejection.

You can write yourself and another
into some future love-dance fantasy,
and create a return response
of a cautionary "I don't think so,
certainly not yet."

We have so much work to do
to read and be sensitive to
the energetic state-of-affairs of others,
as well as what is arising within us.
So much reflection, projection, so
much provocative background noise.

This demands an ever increasing
determination to approach slowly,
slow down in the moment.
Not always charging forth so boldly
with our own fullness.

Sometimes holding back your gift,
sometimes just putting it on the table
and with a deft anonymity
leaving this energy so their presence
has the time and place to unwrap and unfold.

Tis a very sacred space
walking this earth
being amongst others
letting things be
while being alert to opportunities
to spread just the right dose of intimacy.
