Supporting Non-Duality and Awakening in Asheville and Beyond

Do we choose to become vital
or do we choose to become stale?

Every day presents these choices.

Do we give in to the gravity of forced habit
or do we choose to skate out at the edge,
where the ice is thin.

Do we keep doggedly pursuing our single grains of treasure,
continue stroking that which brings us pleasure,
or do we surrender to the callings of our heart
and become pathless,
before we become formless?

For too long the ripe fruit has hung on the tree,
for too long I’ve held on to security
and it has slowly been embalming me
in my tiny held comforts.

I sense the gypsy calling to be freed
the ancient fragrant rose unfolding,
the stone tumbled in its river
grows round, smooth and polished.

I sense ecstasy and delight in these choices to let go,
connecting to the vital mystery, entering the unknowing flow.

This just in from a friend's email.

The Battle Within
(author is anonymous)

An old Cherokee describes an experience going on inside himself....

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
