"Izzy Cloke helped me to see that "noticing & awareness" are more of the "me/person". "Insights" or dwelling in them can fold you back into the mind of seeking."

"The best of my understanding, there is nowhere to go or come from because we are already there. As the observer of self, its still a duality. The ego needs to understand, especially to help others, that's the sweetest bait. I bit…"

Letting go of the "rememberer?"

Greetings all! I'm thrilled to be a part of the community and appreciate your patience as I learn norms and what all is already available (so please forgive me if I engage in a way that is out of place or begin by asking questions that have been answered in detail elsewhere). An inquiry that I'm particularly interested to connect with others on or learn more about is an experience I had two nights ago (which prompted me to join this community after months/years of dragging my feet). I was in a…See More

About Me
Hi, Jeff here and I'm at what feels like a meaningful juncture in my journey. I'm a bit of a newcomer to most terms and concepts; definitely looking to learn and am very open to guidance! I took a course on meditation in college and a few years ago did a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course. While incredibly helpful, I believe that the context in which I was doing these courses was one of "meditate so that ______." That never quite felt right, so I disregarded the "so that ______" not too long ago.

During my MBSR course, I mentioned to my teacher about a few things that happened as I began to observe the observer and he recommended I not go too far down that hole without some guidance. He jokingly said "It's all fun and games until someone loses an I." I'm not sure why I didn't search earlier (I think because I didn't quite know what to search for) but someone recently told me to see if I could find a "Sangha" and here I am!
