Jan Gillespie is a guest with the 'Embracing the Global Heart' series on Thursday, August 25, 7 p.m. We invite you to mark your calendar and plan to join us to co-create an evening devoted to feeling heart coherence through meditation, prayer, and collective visioning. ‘Awakening the Soul’ meditation is a series of eight seated movements to soften the heart and clarify the soul. The practice combines movement to gather chi (life force energy) and holding postures in stillness to return to the heart. As we become grounded in our own open heart then we can share Love and unconditional acceptance with all people in our daily lives. We will begin with a series of gentle, standing body movements to open your energy flow for relaxed focus attention. Qigong (chi kung) is a form of bio-feedback and with practice you will feel relaxed, alert and rejuvenated. We invite you to experience the blissful heart coherence in this moving meditation.

Healthy Digestion Qigong:  The aim is to improve digestion, reduce stress and weight gain. The result: whole body relaxation, alertness, and rejuvenation! Based on the ancient and contemporarily evolved practices of Qigong, the sequence includes breathing, standing and lying down exercises.  Students will also learn the lifetime treasure of the Six Healing Sounds that clear and balance emotions for self-healing.  In addition, students will enjoy practicing the eight seated movements of Awakening the Soul Meditation to soften and still the heart and clarify the soul, allowing unconditional love to flourish in the newly prepared heart. Beautiful poetic prose enriches the meditation experience, inspiring the practitioner to release worry and to know true happiness. Wednesdays 6:30 -8:00 pm, (7 week series) September 7 – October 26, for $80 @ Good Yoga (West Asheville).

Qigong Flow: This class will use floor and standing movements to relax, reduce muscle tension and rejuvenate the mind and spirit. A gentle yet powerful healing practice for beginners and experienced movers!  Saturdays, 10-11:30 (6-week series) September 17 – October 29,  for $68 @ Good Yoga (West Asheville).

Tai Chi Chuan Yang 24 Form:  The slow,  graceful, circular movements of this ancient Chinese martial art provide low impact aerobic exercise suitable for all ages...for a lifetime of wellness. You will experience increased oxygen flow to the brain for mental clarity, cardio fitness, better balance and increased joint flexibility. Studies show it can reduce the possibility of falls and benefits arthritis. This is a moving meditation easy enough for beginners.  Mondays 11:00 to 12:00 (10 week series) September 19 – November 28, for $65 @ YMCA Downtown Asheville.
